Dr. Audra MacCorkle, IVCCP

Dr. Audra MacCorkle completed her undergraduate education at University of California at Irvine in 1995 with honors. She received a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Neuro-psychology as well as qualifying for a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Fine Arts. She graduated from the University of California at Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Dr. MacCorkle has completed extensive training in Animal chiropractic (AVCA), Acupuncture (IVAS), Herbology (IVAS), Homeopathy (AVH), Applied Kinesiology, Physical Therapy (University of Tenn), Ozone Therapies including UVBi /Hemealumen, and Microbiome Diagnostics & Transplantation. She is also trained as a Reiki Master of the Usui lineage and has spent time in India learning ancient Ayurvedic healing. She has been a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the UK for decades and has previously been licensed as a veterinarian in B.C, Canada. Dr. MacCorkle was the founder of Veterinarian’s Without Borders and loves working with her international colleagues. As a young veterinarian, Dr. MacCorkle founded and created Guardian Animal Aftercare, a holistic approach to cremation services for animals that provided free grief support for families and coping strategies for veterinary staff in a concerted effort to raise the bar for aftercare in the industry. Over the years she has developed a special interest in small mammal and avian medicine and loves learning everything there is to know about chickens. Dr. MacCorkle prefers to practice a whole animal / family approach to medicine and leans more towards natural treatments, remedies, and nutrition than pharmaceuticals when at all possible. However, at both her hospitals she does practice integrative medicine using all of tools she has before her to best serve each patient and family. Dr. MacCorkle is the co-owner of both a thriving animal wellness facility, Healing Touch Veterinary Wellness Center, in Tarzana, California and Foothill Pet Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. She enjoys flying small airplanes, teaching yoga, writing music, and dancing, yet her favorite activity in the whole wide world is spending time in nature with her 3 sons!
